Darlington woman's art to be featured in solo show

PLATTEVILLE - Kate Bausch, Darlington, will present her first solo art show called "The First 50 Years" at the Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery in Ullsvik Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, 1 University Plaza.

The show will run from Monday, June 18 through Saturday, July 14 with an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19.

"The First 50 Years" will feature Bausch's newest, color-filled and expressionistic works of trees, as well as her favorite family and cat portraits created earlier in her career. Also on display will be her intricately painted religious iconography, done in the tradition of the Orthodox faith, along with a dozen Ukrainian-style dyed eggs. Four pieces of painted furniture round out the show.

Bausch's painting career took off in a new direction last year after receiving a commission for four paintings that are now a permanent part of Viterbo College's nursing building in La Crosse. For more information, visit www.katebausch.net.
