ARGYLE — The Argyle Public Library will host an event called “Pecatonica River Life” at the Argyle boat launch above dam across from gas station. All ages are welcome.

Led by naturalist educator Mark Sturnick, guests will do hands-on activities to learn about the river, its aquatic life, and the birds and animals that live and play there.

Those with questions can call the Argyle Public Library at 608-543-3193.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, the Argyle Public Library, 401 E. Milwaukee Street, will host Roberta and Kim Barham (Barham Gardens).

The Barham’s are aronia enthusiasts and like to increase public awareness and consumer acceptance of this little-known native super berry. As Public Relations Director for the Midwest Aronia Association, Roberta helped develop an 80-plus recipe book available on Amazon to help answer the question, “What do you do with them?”

The Argyle Public Library is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 2-7 p.m., Wednesdays from 2-6 p.m., and Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For more information, contact Sarah Kyrie, library director, at 608-543-3193, or by email at skyrie@swls.org.
