Area residents may be eligible for disaster loans

MONROE - The Small Business Administration has included Green and Lafayette counties as contiguous counties in a disaster declaration for Stephenson County and the adjacent counties of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle and Winnebago, according to Green County Emergency Management Director Tanna McKeon. Businesses and residents affected by the severe storms and flooding July 19-31 may apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA Administrator Linda McMahon announced. Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.
