MONROE — As the Green County Family YMCA prepares for the highly anticipated grand reopening of its expanded facility, the organization is enhancing its leadership team to better serve the community. With a focus on growth and long-term success, the Y is excited to announce the formation of a Senior Leadership Team and the promotion of key staff members into new roles.
Luke Smetters has been promoted to Director of Operations, bringing his extensive experience in project management, fundraising, and membership engagement to oversee the YMCA’s daily operations and strategic initiatives. Smetters played a pivotal role in the facility expansion, helping secure funding and ensuring the project’s successful execution.
Amanda Sturdevant will take on the role of Director of Child Development, leading efforts to expand and enhance the YMCA’s childcare programs. With a deep commitment to early childhood education, Sturdevant will oversee curriculum development, staff training, and family engagement initiatives.
Lacy Gilbertson has been named Director of Healthy Living, where she will lead wellness and fitness programming to promote a healthier community. Gilbertson’s expertise in health and wellness will ensure the Y continues to provide innovative programs that support members of all ages in achieving their fitness and well-being goals.

The reorganization aligns with the YMCA’s commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and impactful organization. The grand opening of the facility expansion is set for Saturday, June 14th, and will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours, and special events.
