UWP awards scholarships to locals

PLATTEVILLE _ The University of Wisconsin-Platteville awarded scholarships to its incoming first-year class, which is the largest grade of newcomers in school history.

Area students included:

- Katie Krupke, Albany, who won the Albany High School Community Scholarship, totaling $900.

- Abigail Flanagan, Argyle, who won the Argyle High School Community Scholarship, totaling $150.

- Taylor Hauser, Argyle, who won the Argyle High School Community Scholarship, totaling $150.

- Collin Adams, Belleville, who won the Belleville High School Community Scholarship, totaling $150.

- Troy Farrell, Blanchardville, who won the Leo E. and Phoebe W. Boebel Memorial, Joyce Mueller Memorial and Pecatonica High School Community Scholarship, totaling $3,150.

- Joshua Dougherty, Brodhead, who won the Brodhead High School Community Scholarship, totaling $100.

- Rachel Raupp, Brodhead, who won the Freshman Achievement and Leadership Scholarship and Brodhead High School Community Scholarship, totaling $600.

- Katie Carlson, Darlington, who won the Women in EMS Scholarship, totaling $600.

- Katie Loken, Darlington, who won the Glenn Riddle Scholarship and School of Education Scholarship, totaling $400.

- Emily Salathe, Darlington, who won the Freshman Achievement and Leadership Scholarship and Darlington High School Community Scholarship, totaling $1,500.

- Kari Thompson, Darlington, who won the Darlington High School Community Scholarship, totaling $500.

- Alyssa Hanson, Juda, who won the Juda High School Community Scholarship, totaling $100.

- Maria Eberle, Monroe, who won the Monroe High School Community Scholarship, totaling $250.

- Anna Jenson, Monroe, who won the Monroe High School Community Scholarship, totaling $250.

- Desiree Marty, Monticello, who won the Woodward Communications, Inc. Scholarship and Monticello High School Community Scholarship, totaling $650.

- Aaron Nimtz, Monticello, who won the New Glarus High School Community Scholarship, totaling $500.

- Harley French, South Wayne, who won the Black Hawk High School Community Scholarship, totaling $150.

- Chaesta Shager, South Wayne, who won the Black Hawk High School Community Scholarship, totaling $150.
