‘Seeds in Winter’ presentation in Blanchardville

BLANCHARDVILLE — Mary Nelson, plant enthusiast, will hold a hands-on workshop ‘Seeds in Winter’ at the Blanchardville Public Library, 208 Mason Street, on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. During the workshop, attendees will learn how to collect and sort native seeds and understand how to pretreat native seeds to start plants indoors during the winter months. Those present will learn valuable facts about various native plants.

After retiring from a 35-year career in laboratory medicine in 2009, Nelson has spent her time studying native plants and pollinators. She enjoys sharing what she has learned with others and has done numerous presentations for various groups and organizations.

Pre-registration is not necessary. There is no cost to attend the presentation.
