MONROE — The local South Central Wisconsin Farmers Union chapter will hold BioChar Demo and Movie Night from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11 at Wegmueller Farm, W4358 Montgomery Road, Monroe.

SCWFU will show “The Need to Grow” and “Dairyland”. “The Need to Grow” is a family-friendly film about Environmental Solutions including BioChar soil support, Small Scale Urban Farming and the fight for Girl Scouts to offer non-GMO cookies. BioChar Kiln demonstration and talk will also be offered by the DNR and NRCS. The “Dairyland” short film showcases the Wegmuellers.  

Tickets are available at the event and cost $5 for adults or $10 for families. Brats, hot dogs, popcorn and cookies will be for sale. Guests should bring their own chair and drinks.
