MONROE - Woodford State Bank received a basket from Minhas Distillery to use as a door prize for its company holiday party.
Instead of picking a winner, the bank employees turned it into a fundraiser. They sold $1 raffle tickets for the basket with the understanding that the winner could choose a charity to which the proceeds would go. With fewer than 50 employees participating, $600 was raised.
Joy Wandfluh won the raffle and split the proceeds evenly between Monroe Clinic Hospice and the Green County Humane Society.
