MONROE — Poppy Day is a time to honor veterans and remember the sacrifices made for our country. It is day to wear a red poppy as a symbol of remembrance for fallen service members and support for living veterans.

On Friday, May 15, American Legion members will be distributing the bright red poppies at various businesses in Monroe.

Aubree Drake, daughter of Lindsey and Andrew Drake, has been chosen as Poppy Princess 2026.
