Pedal for Paws Benefit July 9

NEW GLARUS - The 15th annual Pedal for Paws Benefit Bike Ride will be July 9, with all new routes departing from Village Park in New Glarus.

Check-in starts at 7 a.m. Complimentary rest and refreshment stops are provided and SAG service will be provided until 2 p.m. There will be an aid station, refreshments and post-race events.

There are 25-, 45- and 65-mile routes on paved roads with varying elevations ranging from 1,190 to 3,890 feet, as well as a family-friendly 9-mile route on and around the Sugar River Trail. Trail passes are required for the state trails for the 9-mile ride only, at $4 per rider. Helmets are required for all participants.

For registration on or before Friday, the prices are: individual, $40, includes moisture-wick T-shirt; family, $55, for two adults and two children, includes two T-shirts; and additional children, $15 each, includes one T-shirt.

After Friday, the prices do not include T-shirts and increase to: individual, $45; family, $65; and additional children, $20 each.

An after-the-ride party at Village Park will feature free soft drinks and free beer, courtesy of the New Glarus Brewery, for riders. There also will be live music and food.
