NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Public Library will be holding a movie screening of "A League of Their Own" at 6 p.m. March 29 and Bob Kann will hold a presentation on women in baseball during and following World War II.

From 1943 to 1954, 37 women from Wisconsin were among the more than 550 women who played professional baseball in the All American Girls Professional Baseball League depicted in the movie "A League of Their Own." In this presentation, Kann, the biographer of one of the Kenosha players in his book "Joyce Westerman: Baseball Hero," will share stories about Wisconsin women who grew up during the Great Depression, worked in factories and on farms and played professional baseball.

Peanuts and Cracker Jacks, hot buttered popcorn and lemonade will be served. This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome but children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
