MONROE —National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Green County is delighted to announce two scholarship opportunities in 2021.
Graduating High School Seniors Scholarship
Available to graduating seniors with a record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities and participation in extracurricular school activities.
● Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college or technical school.
● Scholarship funds will be paid in December 2021 or January 2022 for the second semester of the student’s first year directly to the college and not to the student. It will be the student’s responsibility to submit to the Foundation at that time an invoice for second semester tuition and fees, student ID number and college information.
● Applicants must have the endorsement of their Guidance Counselor on their application attesting they are a qualified fit for this scholarship program. NAMI Green County strongly suggests that each high school present this opportunity to the strongest applicants that match this program’s guidelines. Application deadline is March 31, 2021.
Advanced Secondary Education Scholarship
Available to those who have graduated high school, are enrolled in a bachelor’s program or beyond, or are pursuing education classes.
● Applicants must have been accepted and enrolled into a school or program of their choice related to the mental health field.
● Applicant must submit a short essay and a letter of recommendation.
● Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college, not the student. The scholarship funds will be issued to the college or university upon receiving verification or proof of enrollment for the fall semester, which includes the Student ID number and Financial Aid Office address.
● Applications must be received by NAMI Green County no later than April 26, 2021. Late applications will not be accepted.
