MONROE — The Monroe Clinic welcomes a new group of artists to the Monroe Clinic Gallery with an Art Reception on Aug. 16. The reception will take place in the Monroe Clinic Hospital Lobby from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with Gallery Talk at 5:15 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
This quarter’s exhibit is Radiance by FUSEDChicago. The exhibit is brought to Monroe Clinic courtesy of the Monroe Arts Center Gallery Program. The program uses education and communication to increase appreciation for local art. It also provides opportunities for interactions between artists and community members.
FUSEDChicago is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation founded in 2009. The group is made up of 35 midwest artists, including painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers. Each artist creates art partly or entirely from encaustic, a combination of melted beeswax, dammar resin and pigment.
Pieces of art from FUSEDChicago’s collection will be displayed in the four gallery spaces in the Clinic Hospital building until Nov. 2. Monroe Clinic’s “Art of Healing” exhibit provides patients and visitors with an enriched visual experience proven to advance healing through opportunities for reflection and artistic interpretation.
Art from the collection can be purchased at Prairie Stone Gifts in the Hospital Lobby. A portion of each sale benefits the Monroe Clinic & Hospital Foundation. For more information about the Monroe Arts Center Gallery Program visit www.monroeartscenter.com.
