Midday Masterworks finishes season tomorrow

MONROE - Midday Masterworks, a quarterly organ mini-recital series, will finish its 2012 season on Wednesday, Oct. 24 with a program titled "Made in the U.S.A."

The program will take place at 12:15 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St., and at 5:30 p.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14th St. The half-hour program is free and open to the public.

Organist Deborah Krauss Smith of Monroe will play works that feature tunes of American origin or are of a patriotic nature, including a setting of Stephen Foster's "Camptown Races," variations on the American hymn tune known as "Foundation" and settings of "America, the Beautiful" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic."
