MONROE - The Monroe Public Library will host Slightly Spooky Stories, a special Halloween storytime presented by Kris Ault, youth services coordinator, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the library meeting room, 925 16th Ave.

The program is free and no registration is required.

Slightly Spooky Stories is appropriate for children ages 3 to 8. The one-hour program will feature not-so-scary stories, songs and rhymes. There will be treats.

The evening will include an opportunity to make Halloween crafts. Youngsters will create spooky decorations; haunted haystacks, pumpkin vines, ghost spinners and creepy crawly spider hats.

Children are encouraged to come in their Halloween costumes. Adults are asked to stay with their children and join the fun, in or out of costume.

More information is available by contacting the children's room at the library at (608) 328-7010.
