Lena church plans beef and noodle dinner, bazaar

LENA - St. John's Lutheran Church, 625 County Lane Drive, will host its annual bazaar and beef and noodle dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The bazaar opens at 8:30 a.m. A free-will offering will be accepted for coffee and rolls that will be served from 8:30 a.m. until the bazaar is over. The event will include baked goods, homemade candy, Thanksgiving and Christmas items and crafts.

Flu shots will be given from 9 a.m. to noon. A free blood pressure screening will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The menu includes beef and noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, Jell-O salads, relishes, dinner rolls, pie or angle food cake, and coffee or milk. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 through 12 and children 5 and under are free. Carry-outs are available until 12:30 p.m. by calling 815-369-4035.

The price for drawing tickets is $1 per ticket. The first-place prize is a Dresden plate variation quilt and the second place prize is a Little Ben's Christmas quilt.
