MONROE — Community members are invited to enjoy seasonal festivities, take a photo with Santa Claus and tour the animal shelter facility during the Green County Humane Society’s Holiday Open House from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.

Santa will visit from 1 to 3 p.m., and a photographer will there for holiday portraits. A donation of $10 for the digital image is suggested.

During the open house, attendees can drop off donations to benefit homeless cats and dogs. A Giving Tree is currently available at the shelter and a wish list is posted online at www.greencountyhumane.org. There is currently a high need for peanut butter, canned pate-style cat food, hot dogs, bleach and Dawn dish detergent, among other items.

In addition, a donation drive during the open house will benefit the shelter’s Cat Condo Project. These cat condos provide a high-quality, lower-stress living environment for felines while they await placement in their forever homes. Donations received will help complete the cat condos.

The open house will also feature tours of the shelter, warm drinks and holiday treats.

The shelter is located at N3156 Wisconsin 81, just north of Monroe near the Pleasant View Nursing Home complex.

The Green County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter serving Green and Lafayette counties.
