GCDC Community Conversations Plus coming to Brodhead
GCDC

MONROE — Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) is adding a twist to the Community Conversation circuit, with the addition of a brief educational component. Community members from throughout the county are encouraged to come share their thoughts and ideas for Green County and will learn more about GCDC’s activities while also getting a few tips on varied subjects from local experts.

On Aug. 27, GCDC has partnered with the Bank of Brodhead to bring Community Conversations Plus to Brodhead. In addition to discussion time, Nikki Austin, Certified Exit Planning Advisor, will talk about the top items to consider when planning for the sale of a business.

“Exit, or succession planning for business owners is often an emotional and complex task,” GCDC’s Executive Director, Olivia Otte said. “Our goal with adding this to Community Conversation this month is to layout ideas for planning and make connections that are often set aside. It is never too early to start planning for future changes and we want people to know GCDC is here to assist where we can.”

Residents and entrepreneurs will be able to talk with GCDC, the speaker and local leaders from the city and the chamber. Those from outside of Brodhead are encouraged to attend the session as well, for the learning piece and also the community portion.

“We want all residents to feel comfortable in every community in Green County, to learn and grow from one another’s ideas. While our communities are unique, working together brings more opportunities for all of us,” said Otte.

The Bank of Brodhead will be providing a continental breakfast for attendees. The event is free. While registration is not required, it is encouraged and can be completed at https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/fmygdap or by emailing GCDC@greencountydevelopment.com.

GCDC will be continuing Community Conversations throughout the county. Dates and details can be found by clicking the social media icons on their webpage,
