Author returns to Monroe after book highlighting local ties is published

MONROE — Author Cynthia Clampitt recently returned to Monroe to revisit new friends made during her prior visit in 2020 when she was conducting research for a new book she was in the process of writing, “Destination Heartland — A Guide to Discovering the Midwest’s Remarkable Past” which is now available. 

Several places in Monroe and Green County are mentioned, and included is the recipe for Käsekuchen (Swiss Cheese Pie) from the Monroe Swiss Singer Cookbook.
