Allis-Chalmers Jamboree July 30

McCONNELL - The Allis-Chalmers Jamboree will be Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31 at 8641 N. Flansburg Road, McConnell.

Admission to the event is free, as is parking.

All makes of tractors will be on display, with the special feature being a WD-45 and snap coupler implements.

A lunch stand, old-time music and kiddy tractor pull will be available both days. A tractor ride will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, with a meal to follow.

Albany

Annual golf outing set for Aug. 6

ALBANY - The Education Foundation of the Albany Community will hold its fourth annual golf outing on Saturday, Aug. 6, at Decatur Lakes Country Club, Brodhead. The annual outing is held to raise funds for Albany Youth Programs.

This year's event will be a best ball, scramble format, with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m.

The cost is $65 per person or $260 per foursome, for registrations prior to July 25.

For registrations received after July 25, the cost will be $70 per person and $280 per foursome. Prices include lunch, 18 holes of golf, golf cart and a ticket to the Lions Club Steak Fry in Albany.

There will also be hole prizes, a raffle and silent auction held during the event.

Hole sponsorships by local businesses can also be made for $75. Auction or other prizes can also be donated by calling Steve Guenther, Albany School District Administrator, at (608) 862-3225.

"Thanks to the support for our golf outing, we have been able to offer grants for a total of over $6,000 to many excellent youth programs over the last 3 years," Foundation Board President Forrest Ross said in a release. "In addition, the funds raised have helped us to meet a major milestone by helping build up our perpetual endowment fund to over $10,000.

The Albany Community has been incredibly supportive of the Foundation and we look forward to good weather and another successful event this year."
