Richardson: Thank you to Holly’s Heart & Sole supporters
Letter To The Editor

To the Editor:

The family of Holly Soden would like to thank everyone who supported, volunteered and donated to our 4th annual Holly’s Heart & Sole Family Fun Run event on July 27th. Also thank you to the Officers and EMS that helped to keep our event safe for everyone. Holly was a 2000 graduate of Monroe High School and ran track and cross country all four years. She continued running until it was no longer possible, and we lost Holly to cancer at the age of 33. Holy was an elementary school teacher in MN and developed a Spanish immersion program at the school where she was employed. Holly was a loving wife and an amazing and dedicated mother to her son, Fletcher, now age 14. She touched so many lives while she was with us and her family and friends dearly miss her and her smile, laugh and kind tender heart. This event is an opportunity to remember and celebrate Holly’s life and to raise money to fund scholarships for graduating seniors at Monroe High School. Each year so far we have been able to award 3 scholarships totaling $2000 through the help of sponsors, participants and donations. This year unfortunately, someone thought that it would be alright to steal signs placed around town, with permission, that were promoting our event. We would like to hope that whoever took these signs was not aware that our event benefits our community by bringing people together and providing support to our graduates as well as an opportunity to remember and celebrate Holly. This event would not be possible without a lot of volunteer time from friends, family and our community and without support from area businesses and individuals who make it possible to continue to provide scholarships in Holly’s honor. We invite you to join us next year at our 5th annual Holly’s Heart & Sole Family Fun Run on July 26, 2025. Please follow our facebook page for updates including some new fun activities we are hoping to implement. Here is to you Holly Rose — dearly loved and missed every day xoxo
