McSherry: Candidacy for Green County District 16
Letter To The Editor

From Andrea McSherry

Monroe

To the Editor:

My name is Andrea McSherry, and I am running for the office of Green County Supervisor, District 16. As a county supervisor I will use my experience and knowledge to bring a nonpartisan voice for the residents of rural Green County. Knowing that this position requires one to provide management and accountability, I plan to use my background as a mother, nurse, and community volunteer to aid in meeting the needs of all. Bringing to the table an education and background in healthcare, I hope to help advise subcommittees on maintaining and elevating the care provided for our residents and community. The importance of services available to veterans is also near and dear to me having had many family members serve in the military (my husband, grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and nephew who is currently serving). If elected, I will take the role of actively participating in these subcommittees very seriously.

I will support the growth and strengthening of our community by making deliberate decisions regarding such topics as infrastructure, taxation, and funding appropriation. As this position is nonpartisan it is critical that I listen to the opinions and concerns of all constituents so that my decisions on the board will reflect those that I will serve. I am proud of being a resident of Green County and it is a privilege to raise my children in this understanding and compassionate community. By serving as a supervisor, I will continue to lead our community towards a successful future.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank Pleasant View, our local community nursing home, and emergency services for their amazing actions taken on November 29, 2023. This group of individuals assisted in the housing and care of twenty residents from Glarner Lodge when they experienced a catastrophic flood from a water main leak. The compassionate care for the displaced Glarner Lodge residents proves what a wonderful and indispensable asset Pleasant View and its staff are to our area.

Please remember to go out and place your vote on April 2, 2024. All voices matter and need to be heard. Thank you.
