Warriors dominate the field at Six Rivers tourney

JUDA - Black Hawk took top honors at the Six Rivers Volleyball Tournament, Saturday, which included Argyle, Darlington, Juda, Monticello, Benton, Shullsburg, Dodgeville and a second Black Hawk team.

Black Hawk I, which won seven of the eight games, knocked off Argyle 25-9, 25-17 in the first two games of Pool A play, then split with Darlington 21-25, 25-13, advancing to the Gold Bracket for tournament play.

Darlington won both of its games against Argyle, 25-6, 25-22, but was dropped to the Silver Bracket after a tiebreaker. Argyle went into the Bronze Bracket.

In Pool B, Juda took two games from Benton, 26-24, 25-15, before losing 25-17, 25-18 to Dodgeville. Dodgeville swept Benton to advance to the Gold Bracket and Juda went to the Silver Bracket.

Monticello split with Shullsburg (26-24, 22-25) and Black Hawk II (25-12, 25-17) in Pool C, advancing to the Silver Bracket. Shullsburg topped Black Hawk II, 25-19, 25-19 to advance to the Gold Bracket.

As tournament play began in the afternoon, Black Hawk I reeled off consecutive wins against Dodgeville (25-22, 25-12) and Shullsburg (25-20, 25-19) to take the championship. Dodgeville topped Shullsburg in three games (21-25, 25-15, 16-14) to earn second place.

Monticello swept Darlington, 25-20, 25-19, and took two of three from Juda (23-25, 26-24, 15-4) for the top spot in the Silver Bracket. Darlington swept Juda 25-19, 25-18 for second.

In the Bronze Bracket, all three teams (Argyle, Benton, Black Hawk II) split their matches. Argyle beat Black Hawk II 25-21, 25-23, but lost to Benton 25-17, 25-21. Black Hawk II swept Benton 25-19, 26-24.
