STOUGHTON - The Monroe boys soccer team lost its Badger South Conference opener 3-1 to Stoughton Friday.
Monroe sophomore Ryne Miller scored a goal on an assist from senior Kevin Noriega at 23 minutes, 14 seconds to give the Cheesemakers (3-5, 0-1 Badger South) a 1-0 lead. The Vikings exploded for three second-half goals.
"We were able to capitalize on some of our opportunities," Monroe coach Tony Vasquez said. "We knew it wasn't going to be enough.
"We had to keep pressure on them and we just relaxed. We have played good first halves and good second halves. We still haven't played a full 90 minutes."
