MONROE — On July 19, season pool passes will go half price. Family pass will be $50 residents/$75 non-residents; individual $27.50 residents/$40 non-residents; senior individual $25 residents/$37.50/non-residents; senior couple $40 residents/$50 non-residents. Passes may be purchased at Park and Rec office, at the pool or online.

Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is hosting another special event at the pool and the date has been changed to Monday, July 19, 1 to 5 p.m. with a theme of Space Jam. There will be a dunk tank, carnival games and more. Planned foods include: Roadrunner popcorn, Tasmanian Devil dogs, Bugs Bunny beverages, Daffy Duck’s divine nachos and cheese, Tweety chips, and Speedy Gonzales Sour Patch Kids. First National Bank & Trust will be sponsoring this event. Daily admission to the pool still applies and no sign up necessary.

Swim lessons at the outdoor pool are available for swimmers 42-inches tall and entering 4K through eighth grade. Lessons will be held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Monday-Friday for two weeks from July 19-30. There are still spots available.

The following exercise class options are offered:

●  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 5:45 p.m. through Aug. 26 with Certified Aqua Zumba instructor Connie Wyssbrod

●  Senior Water Exercise on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12 to 12:45 p.m. through July 28 with instructor Bridget Cotter

●  Senior Water Exercise on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 to 11:45 a.m., Aug. 2-25 with instructor Bridget Cotter

Registration required. Classes canceled due to inclement weather will not be made up.


Family/Toy Nights

From 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday evenings through Aug. 29, children may bring in small rafts, toys and inner tubes for family night. The pool encourages children to be accompanied by a guardian or parent to gain entry into the pool.
