BELLEVILLE - Both the boys and girls Sugar River Raider teams earned a bronze in fending off their territory's invaders Thursday evening.
Sugar River's boys earned 98 points to place third behind Deerfield (107) and team champion Clinton (119.50), while Pecatonica-Argyle and Albany tied for eighth with 38. Black Hawk put 31 points on the board for 10th.
The Lady Raiders' 81.50 points were also good for third as Evansville's 140 won the meet and Deerfield took second with 107. Albany had 69 points to crack the top five in fifth while Black Hawk placed sixth (56) and Pec-Argyle earned eighth (50.50).
While the Raider boys were frequent flyers in the top three of most events, the lone individual title was landed by Ben Marsh, whose leap of 19 feet, 6 inches won the long jump.
Pecatonica-Argyle senior Andy Dieterich had a night to remember as he won the 800-meter run (2:10.4) by two-and-a-half seconds. He then set the tone in the opening leg of the 4x800 relay team that won with a time of 8:48.2, more than four seconds swifter than the Sugar River team.
The Six Rivers was extremely well-represented in the girls' meet as Black Hawk and Pec-Argyle won three events and Albany won both hurdles events.
The fleet feet of Devan Brugger flew over the hurdles as she won the 100 (16.9 seconds) and the 300 (50.5). Black Hawk's Savannah Ernzen matched Brugger's time in the 100 while fellow Lady Warrior Hailey Meier flew to gold in the 100 (13.4) and the 400 (1:02.5). The two combined with Katie Place and Rachel Rygh to win the 4x100 (52.9).
Elise Sigg won the 400 (1:02.5) and the 800 (2:29.9) before running the opening leg for Pecatonica-Argyle's 4x400 relay team (4:21.3).
