RVC, Capitol announce all-conference teams

The Rock Valley Conference has released its football all-conference list, and it is full of Brodhead-Juda players.

Junior Ethan Douglas, one of 12 Cardinals mentioned, was named a first-team running back and linebacker by the RVC coaches, and was awarded as the conference's best back.

Senior Beau Benner (quarterback), Jeff Rackow (linebacker) and junior Brandon Booth (guard) also made the first team.

Seniors Vinny Mazzarisi (RB), Tyler Welch (TE), Trevor Klein (LB), Rackow (guard) and Benner (DB) were named to the second team. Juniors Devin Seitz (DB), Eric Wahl (LB), Booth (DL), and sophomore Nick Jacobson (DE) also took home second-team honors.

Erik Jacobson and Garrett Fisher were named to the honorable mention squad.

In volleyball, the statebound Cardinals had six players make the list. Seniors Cassie Wymer (setter) and Kristen Ruchti (hitter) were named first team.

Classmates Courtney Mielke and Jordan Riese nabbed second-team honors, with juniors Amanda Johnson and Dana Lewis earning honorable mention.

Wymer was named RVC player of the year.

In the Capitol Conference, New Glarus-Monticello had 12 football players named all conference, and Belleville-Albany had 11 make the list.

For the Glarner Knights, senior Casey Klossner twice was named to the first team, as an offensive and defensive lineman. Junior Cameron Jeglum (wide receiver), Ryan Bright (DB), Tyler Boley (LB) and Parker Havens (LB) each received first-team honors, as well. Boley also was named as a first-team specialist.

Hans Borth (OL), Matt Felt (DB), Logan Lockard (kicker), and Troy Berg (DL) were named to the second team.

Bright was named as honorable mention quarterback.

For the Wildcats, Brendon Campbell (RB), Andrew Vetter (OL), Tyler Argall (DB), Jamie Flood (DL) and Jeremy McDermott (punter) were named to the first team.

Phil Kauk (OL), Bryce Hulbert (OL), Colton Crye (DL) and McDermott (LB, specialist) were named to the second team.

Ryan Hendrickson was named an honorable mention quarterback.

In soccer, Sugar River's Jon Fox (midfielder) and Caleb Mabis (defender) were named to the first team

Dylan Bigler (midfielder) and Brendan Pittman (defender) were named to the second team.

Zach Luchsinger (midfielder), and Eric Liegel (goal keeper) were named honorable mention.
