RIVERDALE - The Darlington girls basketball team hit the road Thursday, Dec. 12 looking for their first win against conference foe Riverdale but came up short 47-29.
Defensive pressure and transition points by Riverdale limited Kelly Rose and her team.
"They put a good halfcourt trap on (us), and we got flustered," she said.
Rose said the Redbirds (0-5, 0-2 in the SWAL) will look to make some changes in the upcoming week.
"I told them we have a lot to work on and we will be changing some things up," she said. "As a team, we have to work on handling the ball, taking care of it in the half-court and finishing at the basket."
Taylor Cox had nine points and Mariah Wiegel chipped in six points for the Redbirds, who will host Pecatonica on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
