MONROE — Monroe hosted the doubles portion of its annual city-wide tennis tournament Sunday, June 23. The singles portion, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 22 has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 30.

There are five divisions between the two portions with 14 men’s double teams, four women’s doubles teams, eight mixed doubles teams, 23 men’s singles and seven women’s singles players signed up.

“It was one of our biggest turnouts yet, and we had a great crowd,” Monroe tennis coach Matt Border said.


Men’s Doubles

Monroe also hosts a co-ed tennis league for high schoolers and adults — doubles on Mondays from 6-8 p.m. and singles on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m.

Players compete in a random draw and play out a double-elimination bracket.
