Raiders stay unbeaten, with 5-1 win at LL

LAKE MILLS - Sugar River senior Kalin O'Rourke scored two goals to lead the Raiders to a 5-1 win over Lakeside Lutheran Thursday.

With the win, Sugar River (5-0, 1-0 Capitol Conference), ranked No. 8 in the Division 3 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state poll, had its streak of four straight shutouts come to an end. The Raiders scored four goals in the second half to break the game open.

O'Rourke scored the only goal of the first half on an assist by Sydney Gentilli at 15 minutes, 53 seconds. The one-goal edge didn't stay that way for long.

Less than 2 minutes into the second half, Sugar River's Julia McNamer scored a goal on a pass by Aimee Sies to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead. O'Rouke scored on an assist by Ellie Gentilli at 64:26 to extend the Raiders' lead to 3-0.

Sugar River's Regyn Jelle scored a goal on a pass from Brooke Watrud at 77:40 to give the Radiers a 4-1 lead. The Raiders outshot Lakeside Lutheran 18-8. Sugar River's Kirsitin Krantz scored the final goal on a penalty kick.

Sugar River junior goalie Rachael Heittola had three saves and Skylar Buttenhoff had four saves.

In other action, Milton knocked off Monroe 5-0. With a second straight loss, the Cheesemakers drop to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the Badger South Conference.
