NEW GLARUS - Even in the dead of winter, Dani Pickett set up camp Friday night.

The New Glarus senior guard hung behind the 3-point arc and coldly drilled 5 of her 6 triples attempted and registered 21 points in the Glarner Knights 60-52 Capitol South victory over Marshall.

Pickett put in 17 points in the first half as the Glarner Knights took at 29-16 lead into halftime.

"The only two she hit she had her toe on the line, so it should've been six," New Glarus head coach Braden Rindy said of his sharpshooter's night.

Shanna Karls added 15 points - 10 in the third quarter - for the Glarner Knights. Hannah Rotar added a needed inside game for New Glarus after intermission with nine of her 11 points.

Andrea Schween led the Cardinals with 16 points in a losing effort.

Pecatonica 56, Juda 27

The Vikings' players gave their parents something to smile about on Parents Night.

"Everything seemed to fall for her," Tarell said.

Get Aryn Wellnitz in the open court and watch what she can do.

The Warrior senior was able to break loose on rushes and scored a game-high 13 points in Black Hawk's 52-12 trouncing of the Ponies at home.

"She got several transition baskets," Warriors head coach Mike Flanagan said. "She's a fast kid."

Wellnitz also got defensive and shut out Monticello senior MacKenzie Hilliard, who didn't score. Aryn's younger sister, Kim, and junior Paige Butler added nine points apiece in the win.

Sarah Silver and Sadi Hilliard, MacKenzie's younger sister, had four apiece to lead the Ponies.

Barneveld 51, Albany 34

The Comets ran into some bad timing.

Albany hosted Barneveld three days removed from the Eagles' tough road loss to Black Hawk and couldn't keep pace in a 51-34 defeat.

Comets senior Amy Golz had a game-high 21 points, but didn't have any help along side her in the loss.

"That's good and bad," Albany head coach Brandon Bakken said of Golz's point outburst. "You can't expect her to score every point."

Nicolette Blumer, Tiffany Thompson and Megan Schulz each had three for the Comets, who couldn't get a lot of shots up unless it was from Golz's hand.

Argyle 46, Belmont 35

Looks can be deciving.

Mineral Point 62,

Darlington 29

The Redbirds will have some motivation for their next matchup with the Pointers.

Mineral Point hung a 25-3 first quarter and the Redbirds never recovered as the Pointers blew them away 62-29 in Mineral Point.

"It's a disappointment. We didn't match their intensity," Darlington head coach Kurt Cohen said. "We were hoping it would be something we could measure ourselves up to."
