CAMBRIDGE - Sugar River senior Kalin O'Rourke exploded scoring five goals to power the Raiders to a 6-1 win over Cambridge-Deerfield Thursday.
For Sugar River, it marked the team's fourth straight conference win. The Raiders (8-0-1, 4-0 Capitol Conference) are currently ranked No. 8 in the Division 3 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state poll.
O'Rourke scored her first goal on an assist by Kirsten Krantz at 36 minutes, 41 seconds. Just 42 seconds later, O'Rourke scored her second goal on Krantz's second assist. O'Rourke notched a hat trick on a pass by senior Aimee Sies to give the Raiders a 3-0 lead at the half.
Both Krantz and Sies had two assists. The Raiders outshot the Blue Jays 25-1.
O'Rourke scored the first goal of the second half on an assist by sophomore Ellie Gentilli at 52:59 to give Sugar River a commanding 4-0 lead. Gentilli later scored a goal on a pass by Sies to give the Raiders a 5-0 lead.
Cambridge scored in the 55th minute, and O'Rourke notched her fifth in the 57th minute.
