NEW GLARUS - New Glarus' girls basketball team had five players foul out and finished Monday's game playing three-on-five in a wild 64-60 triple-overtime loss to Capitol South rival Lodi.
New Glarus junior Michelle Preston hit a buzzer-beating jumper at the end of the first overtime to force the second extra session, helping the Knights overcome a six-point deficit in the last 40 seconds.
In the second overtime, New Glarus junior Alissa Siegenthaler made a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to force triple overtime.
The Knights were down by just two points when their fifth player fouled out, and they were forced to play with three players the final 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
"It's hard to come back after that," New Glarus coach Braden Rindy said.
New Glarus junior Tanya Gruter led the Knights with 19 points, Rachel Miller added 14 and freshman Alycia Atwell chipped in 12.
With the loss, the Knights drop to 1-7 (0-2 Capitol South).
