Mukwonago tops Monroe tennis

MUKWONAGO - The Monroe High School boys tennis team lost a nonconference dual match to Mukwonago 5-2 on Wednesday.

Monroe senior Silas Setterstrom defeated Mukwonago's A.J. Brahm 6-0, 6-2 at No 1 singles. The other win for the Cheesemakers came from their No. 1 doubles team of seniors Ryan Peterson and Alex Tordoff. Peterson and Tordoff defeated Mukwonago's Jake Schneider and Kevin Johnson 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 in a third-set match tiebreak.

At No. 2 singles, Mukwonago's Harrison Fabian beat Monroe senior Nick Baumann 6-1, 6-2. Monroe's Quinn Walsh lost to Mukwonago's Sam Alger 6-0, 6-0 at No 3 singles. Mukwonago's Jacob Waschow defeated the Cheesemakers' Zeke Frankford at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0.

Mukwonago's No. 2 doubles team of Billy Glusick and Ryan Hickok beat the Cheesemakers' senior duo of Jacob Kind and Ross Oxenrider 6-2, 6-4. At No. 3 doubles. Monroe's Landon Knobel and Scott Foley lost to Joe Carlson and Nathan Lesnick 6-0, 6-2.

Monroe is at Monona Grove on Friday.
