MONROE — The WIAA recently released the spring baseball postseason brackets. Regional quarterfinal play begins May 26, with second round action scheduled to be held May 31. Regional championships will follow the next day. Winners will advance to sectionals, with both the semifinal and final taking place on June 7. The WIAA Baseball State Tournament is set for June 14-16 at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute, home of Brewers Single A affiliate Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
In Division 2, Monroe drew a 6-seed and will travel to McFarland in the first round, while Brodhead-Juda is a 5-seed and will play at Evansville. Edgerton is the top team in the regional, with the winner of Brodhead-Juda/Evansville traveling to face the Tiders in the regional semifinal. The Monroe/McFarland winner will get either Stoughton or 2-seed Edgewood. The sectional will at Waupun.
In Division 3, Darlington (5) is at Fennimore, with the winner getting top-seeded Cuba City. New Glarus (3) will host Parkview, with the winner facing either Monticello-Albany (7) or Belleville (2) in the second round. The sectional is at Prairie du Chien.
Second-ranked Pecatonica is the top seed in its Division 4 regional and will get the winner of Argyle (5) at Belmont. If Black Hawk (7) can upset Barneveld (2), the Warriors would face either Southwestern (3) or Shullsburg-Benton in Round 2. Riverdale will host the sectional.
