Vikes split in River Ridge Triangular
Warbirds, Cardinals, Raiders pick up wins

PATCH GROVE — The Pecatonica-Argyle wrestling team went 1-1 in the River Ridge triangular on Tuesday, Jan. 10. 

The Vikings defeated North Crawford-Seneca 34-18 but fell to host River Ridge 36-24. Jakob Orloff, Aiden Gruenenfelder, Will Doescher and Sammy Nelson went 2-0.

On the same day, Darlington-Black Hawk competed in the Boscobel Quadrangular, going 2-1. The Warbirds defeated Cuba City-Benton-Southwestern 45-30 and Boscobel-Wauzeka-Steuben 60-17. Fennimore bested the Warbirds 51-15. Tye Crist, Eli Aird and Owen Seffrood were undefeated at 3-0. Maddox Goebel, Bryan Lazaro, Austin Schulte and Ethan Aird were 2-1.

Sugar River picked up a dual win against Mount Horeb 51-19. The Raiders had five pins, two forfeits, one major decision and one technical fall.

Likewise, Brodhead-Juda picked up a road dual victory. The Cardinals defeated Big Foot-Williams Bay 45-12. There were five forfeits in the match, three of which went in the favor of Brodhead-Juda. The Cardinals also picked up two wins by decision, two by pin, one by major decision and one by technical fall.

Monroe suffered a 60-22 loss to Portage. Seniors Jack Dubach, Austin Fuchs and Isaac pinned their opponents for 18 points. Garrett Minder scored the remaining four with a 14-3 major decision.
