DARLINGTON — The Southwest Wisconsin Activities League (SWAL) recently released its all-conference lists, where Darlington’s Ross Crist was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Lineman of the Year.

 The senior leads Darlington with 26 solo tackles, 15 tackles for loss, three sacks, three fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and one fumble returned for a touchdown. He also recorded 47 total tackles and one interception. Ross Crist was also named to the first-team offense. 

Talan Crist was also a two-way, first-team all-conference player. Defensively, he had 36 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception.

The third Redbird selection to the first-team offense was Calum Crist. Calum Crist led the team with 107 carries for 754 yards. He also scored five rushing touchdowns.

Maddox Goebel and Dante Glendenning were also selected to the first-team defense. Goebel tallied 51 total tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, one fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, two interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.

Dante Glendenning had 31 total tackles one tackle for loss and one forced fumble.

Zeke Zuberbuhler, Anthony Morrone, Broker Buschor, Sloan Glendenning and Isaac Crist were also recognized by the league as either second-team or honorable mention selections.

Darlington finished second in conference with 6-1 record, losing to champions Cuba City. 

Belleville had eight players earn all-conference honors — Garrett Pauli, Ryker Swenson, Logan Derke, Cayson Helwig, Cooper Nemec, Tyler Miyamoto, Brennan Keyes, Sam Arndt and Riley Weber. 

The Wildcats finished fourth in conference with a 4-3 record.
