The WIAA girls basketball playoffs tipped off Feb. 19 with regional quarterfinals.

Monroe in Division 2, and Brodhead, New Glarus and Darlington in Division 4 all had first-round byes.

Division 5 does not allow for byes, so all six remaining area teams were on the court.

Top-ranked Black Hawk defeated North Crawford 100-17 in Section 3 action. The Warriors will host Iowa-Grant Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.

Argyle, the No. 3 seed in Sectional 4, defeated Madison Country Day 72-12. The Orioles will host Central Wisconsin Christian Feb. 22 in the regional semifinal.

Fourth-seeded Albany defeated 13-seed Pecatonica 58-20. The Comets host Rio in Round 2. Rio, the fifth seed, defeated Juda 77-44.

No. 7 Monticello defeated No. 10 Johnson Creek 63-35. The Ponies travel to No. 2 Randolph next. 

Also on Friday, Monroe will host McFarland, which defeated Mount Horeb 47-35.

In Division 4, Darlington will host Wisconsin Heights, Waterloo is at New Glarus, and Parkview will play at Brodhead.
