The WIAA softball and baseball playoffs continued May 23.

The Monroe Cheesemakers defeated Jefferson 4-2 in a WIAA Division 2 regional final in softball. Monroe advances to play at Whitnall May 28.

In Division 4 softball, Argyle lost a heartbreaker to Southwestern 5-4, while Black Hawk was kept at bay against top-ranked Belmont 3-1.

In the WIAA Division 2 baseball regionals, Monroe lost to Evansville 2-0.

New Glarus used a 6-run rally in the top of the 11th inning to knock off Brodhead-Juda 13-8 in a Division 3 baseball matchup.

In Division 4, Pecatonica fended off Darlington 5-1, while Monticello-Albany lost to Barneveld 10-2. Black Hawk lost 10-0 to Shullsburg-Benton, and Argyle lost to Southwestern 6-5, stranding the bases loaded in the seventh inning. Pecatonica will play at Shullsburg-Benton May 28, while New Glarus will play at Parkview.
