REEDSBURG — The Cheesemakers gave up a goal in the first period against the Miners, but the visiting team was able to score three goals in the final two periods to rally for a 3-1 victory on Dec. 13.
Reedsburg’s Ryan Manley scored in the first period, and Monroe’s Cameron Newcomer tied it up in the second. Patrick Alt gave the Cheesemakers the edge two minutes into the third frame, and Hans Brandt put it away with an empty-netter. Brock Brandli played all 51 minutes, recording 17 saves.
The power play continued to be a struggle for MHS, as the Cheesemakers were 0-for-3 on power-play opportunities. Luckily, Reedsburg was also unable to score with 17 minutes of an extra staker, as the Miners went 0-for-2.
