Blake Matthys recently announced his commitment to continue his academic and football careers at UW-La Crosse. After battling an injury this season, Matthys was glad “to know that (his) football career isn’t fully finished and that (he has) fellow teammates and friends going and continuing their athletic careers there as well.” Matthys chose the Eagle program for its “winning atmosphere and the great coaching staff.” Matthys is a two-time first-team all-conference player, earning Defensive POY honors in 2022. UWL football won the WIAC this fall and hosts its first playoff game since 2006.
