JUDA — The Panthers put up a fight, but in the end, Albany came away with a 25-9, 25-22, 25-23 sweep Sept. 29.
Jocelyn Rufer led Juda with five kills in the match, while Morgan Schneeberger finished with 25 digs. Maddie Smith dished out a team-high 16 assists for the Panthers, with Susan Farias blocking four balls and Libby Jordan notching five aces.
Mady Conway and Brianna Dahl each had seven kills to lead Albany. Conway added 12 digs, Alana Durtschi totaled six aces, Jada Flannery had two blocks and Payton Firth recorded six assists.
Darlington 3, Iowa-Grant 0
LIVINGSTON — The Redbirds swept Iowa-Grant for the second time in less than two weeks Sept. 29. Iowa-Grant was a sectional qualifier a year ago, but could never pull off a big run late in any set to topple Darlington, which won 25-15, 25-16, 25-20.
Sydney Beasley continued her dominating play for the Redbirds, recording 11 kills and nine blocks on the night. Laura Sturtz had four of Darlington’s nine aces in the match and added another 23 assists. Kaylyn McGuire led Darlington with 10 digs, Emma Rielly tallied five kills and Jaidyn Evenstad notched three blocks. Darlington finished with a 93.2% serving percentage in the match, missing just five serves in the three sets.
Monticello 3, Juda 0
JUDA — The Ponies controlled the three-set match from start to finish Sept. 28.
Monticello won the first set 25-13, then scored at will in the second, winning 25-6, before taking the third 25-17.
Ellie Gustafson had 12 kills to lead Monticello, while Hannah Clark finished with seven and Jaden Zuber five. Zuber and Katelyn Eyler each tallied three aces for the Ponies, while senior Alexa Siegenthaler dished out 19 assists.
