HARTLAND — The Fury went 1-1-1 at the Arrowhead Thanksgiving Tournament Nov. 26-27 at the Howard G. Mullett Ice Center.
The girls co-op hockey team lost 3-0 to Northland Pines a day after defeating host Arrowhead 8-2 and tying Brookfield 1-1.
In the win over Arrowhead, Rock County’s Emma Kilgora notched a hat trick, with three goals and an assist. Amery Stuckey added two goals and an assist, while Olivia Combs, Sara Loerke and Hannah Chady each scored goals. Loerke, Comes and Anna Malone each had two assists, and Lily Campbell, Lily Clark and Olivia Cronin had an assist each. Cronin added 20 saves in net. The Fury outshot the Warhawks 30-33.
Against Brookfield, Kilgora had Rock County’s lone goal, with Clark assisting in the third period to draw it even. Cronin finished with 17 saves and the Fury outshot the Glacier 37-18.
Northland Pines scored a goal in the first period to get up early on the Fury, then scored twice more in the second. Grace Wittkopf had two goals for the Eagles, with Hailey Krznarich adding another. Northland Pines out-shot Rock County 33-26.
The Fury (2-1-1) host Badger Lightning in Beloit Dec. 2, then travel to Ashwaubenon the next day to play Green Bay Area.

Monroe goes 1-1 at Beloit tournament
BELOIT — The Monroe boys co-op hockey team lost to Kenosha 6-4 on Nov. 26, then collected their first win of the season the next day 4-2 over host Beloit Memorial at the Beloit Thanksgiving Shootout.
In the 6-4 loss to Kenosha, Monroe out-shot its opponents 56-29.
Kenosha scored less than three minutes into the game to take the early lead, then made it 2-0 on a power play goal just over two minutes into the second period. Monroe then scored three straight goals over the next eight minutes. Blaze Janecke, Nathan Ratke and Cash Anderson all put the puck in the back of the net, while Aidan Grey, Seth Brandt and Gavin Roth collected assists.
Kenosha scored with 3:31 left in the second to even it at 3-3.
In the third, both teams traded goals over the first 3:33, with Janecke scoring off an assist from Brandt to even the score at 4-4. Kenosha scored again just 68 seconds later, and added a power play goal with 6:15 to play to put Monroe behind by two.
Xander Obert finished the night with 23 saves.
The next day against Beloit Memorial, Monroe fell behind after a quick goal just 1:28 into the first. Over the next two frames, the Cheesemakers rallied for four straight goals, including a shorthanded strike by Wyatt Janecke, to take the lead for good. Blaze Janecke lit the lamp twice for Monroe, while Patrick Alt’s empty net score with 1:38 left in the third put away the Knights for good.
Anderson assisted twice in the game. Kyle Theorin had 40 saves in net for Monroe. Beloit Memorial added one last goal before the final horn rang.
Up next for Monroe is a Dec. 2 showdown at Sauk Prairie in the Badger West opener. Monroe opens its home slate of games at SLICE on Dec. 4 against KMMO, with Oregon coming to town two days later.
