Fury hit in hurry

FOND DU LAC — Playing the Fond du Lac Warbirds in the first game of 2022, the Rock County Fury took a 1-0 lead just 90 seconds after first puck drop on a goal from Hannah Chady. For 13 minutes the Fury had the home team on the ropes, but that quickly changed. 

The Wardbirds scored the final four goals of the game, including the equalizer later in the first period, then two more goals in the second and a fourth in the third. Allison Waara had a hat trick for the Warbirds, with Emily Brown assisting on each of the first three goals.

Sara Loerke had the assist on Chady’s goal. Olivia Cronin had 44 saves in net, as the Warbirds outshot the Fury 48-11.

Rock County (4-8-2) get back into action Jan. 7-8 against Baraboo and Viroqua, then travel to Beaver Dam on Jan. 11.
