MONROE — The Wisconsin Track Coaches Association (WISTCA) recently released its all-state selections. Unlike other sports that separate all-state selections by divisions, all-state track awards the top performers in each event across all divisions.
Sugar River’s Jack Erickson won the Division 2 300-meter hurdles with a time of 38.41. This mark was third-best in the state behind Division 1 hurdlers Logan Hicks from Arrowhead (36.92) and Blake Postler from D.C. Everest (37.52). The remaining three all-state selections in the 300-meter hurdles were also Division 1 athletes.
Brodhead-Juda’s Addison Yates tied for fifth-best in the state in the high jump (5-05). The top two jumpers were Division 1 athletes — DeForest’s Allyson Armstrong (5-07) and Madison Memorial’s Emerson Myers (5-06). The remaining all-state selections were either Division 2 or 3.
Stella Arn was Brodhead-Juda’s second all-state selection in the 100-meter dash (12.39). That mark was sixth-best in the state. Lucci Aizpurua of Amery, whom Arn ran next to, had the top time with 11.92. There was only one other Division 2 selection, the rest were Division 1.
