DARLINGTON — The Dodgers scored first in the second half and never looked back in a 67-62 win on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Dodgeville and Darlington had entered the locker room tied at 36. 

The Redbird defense was stout once again, scoring 18 points off turnovers, deflecting 17 passes and grabbing 13 steals. However, their offense could not keep pace. The Dodger offense shot 42.1% from the field, 43.8% from 3-point range and 82.4% from the free-throw line.

Sadie Goebel led Darlington with 17 points with four of the team’s 3s. The other 3-pointers came from Maddie Gratz (11 points) and Zoie Zuberbuhler (6 points). Aubrey McCarthy also finished in double figures with 11 points. A quartet of Redbirds grabbed five rebounds — Gratz, Goebel, Jaidyn Evenstad and Catie Hartwig.

JANESVILLE PARKER 59, MONROE 49

MONROE — The Cheesemakers outscored the Vikings 34-26 in the second half, but Monroe dropped a nonconference game at home on Tuesday, Dec. 19. 

Of Monroe’s 49 points, 22 came from the free-throw line, as Janesville Parker committed 28 fouls. The Cheesemakers were 22-for-33 from the line for 66.7%. Sophie Golembiewski (15 points) was 8-for-10, Delaney Fortney (6 points) 6-for-8, Abbey Matley (9 points) 4-for-7 and Braylee Friedrich (8 points) 4-for-6. Defensively, Matley grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds, while Golembiewski and Fortney had seven. 

BLACK HAWK 60, POTOSI-CASSVILLE 37

POTOSI — With its highest offensive output of the season, the Warriors defeated the Chieftains in a Six Rivers crossover on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Three players scored in double figures for Black Hawk — Maddy Lange (14 points), Maddy Place (13 points) and Kendra Haldiman (11 points). Mya Milz led in rebounding with eight boards. The Warriors shot 6-for-16 from 3-point range and 8-for-14 at the free-throw line.

In other local girls basketball, Barneveld defeated Juda 71-16.
