EAST TROY — The East Troy Trojans scored seven runs over the final two innings and ended their game with the Monroe Cheesemakers early on the 10-run rule for a 10-0 win in five innings in RVC-Valley baseball on Thursday, May 14.
The Cheesemakers got just one hit, a single by Ian Berg in the fifth inning and they had just one other baserunner, Marcus Ott, who walked in the fourth inning.
Monroe 3, Platteville 2
Single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings were enough for the Monroe Cheesemakers to slip past the Platteville Hillmen at home in nonconference baseball on Friday, May 15.
In the fourth, Tyler Briggs tripled and scored on a wild pitch. The Cheesemakers got another run in the fifth when Trent Wyss reached on a single and later scored on an error. With the scored tied at 2-2, the Cheesemakers took the lead in the sixth when Tyler Briggs, walked, went to second on a sacrifice and scored on Kaiden Rieder’s RBI single.
Rieder was 2x3 with an RBI and Briggs was 1x2 with two runs scored. Marcus Ott got the win allowing just two runs, seven hits, no walks, and seven strikeouts.
Monroe (6-14-1, 4-8 RVC-Rock) returned to conference action with a game at Delavan-Darien on Tuesday, May 19.
Edgerton 9, Brodhead-Juda 4
The Edgerton Crimson Tide put together a four-run third inning to down the Brodhead-Juda Cardinals 9-4 in an RVC-Rock baseball game on Thursday, May 14.
With Edgerton leading 3-1 in the top of the third, the Crimson Tide took advantage of four walks and two errors to increase their lead to 7-1.
Braylon Strehlow led the Cardinals with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. Logan Krupke and Jayden Nehls also scored runs for Brodhead-Juda.
Brodhead-Juda (5-14, 4-9) traveled to Dodgeville for a nonconference game on Friday, May 15.
Brodhead-Juda 7, Dodgeville 5
Two insurance runs in the fourth inning helped the Brodhead-Juda Cardinals get a 7-5 win over the Dodgeville Dodgers in nonconference baseball at Dodgeville on Friday, May 15.
The Cardinals and the Dodgers each scored three runs in the first inning, but the Cardinals snapped the tie with two runs in the third inning. Sam Searls tripled and Manny Bueno brought him home with a single to center. Bueno scored on a base hit by Logan Krupke.
In the fourth, Jayden Nehls singled and later scored on a wild pitch and Braylon Strehlow scored on a sacrifice fly by Chase Bauman.
Brodhead-Juda (6-14, 4-9) hosted the Clinton Cougars in Rock Valley action on Tuesday, May 19.
Belleville 17, Waterloo 16 (8 innings)
The Belleville Wildcats saw a 12-3 lead turn into a 14-14 tie, then won their Capitol South game at Waterloo by scoring three runs in the eighth inning on Friday, May 15.
After the Wildcats got a 12-3 lead in the second inning, the Pirates scored in every inning, including five runs in the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings tied at 14-14.
In the eighth inning, Randy Raven scored on a fielder’s choice, Austin Mckinley scored on a base hit by Rayden Taylor, and Marcus Hebgen scored on a bases-loaded walk. Hebgen was 1x6 but drove in three runs. McKinley and Evan Edge had two RBIs for the Wildcats.
Belleville (8-10, 2-6) played in the Baraboo Triangular against Baraboo and West Salem on Saturday, May 16.
Cambridge 9, New Glarus 6
A six-run fifth inning spelled doom for the New Glarus Glarner Knights in a 9-6 loss to the Cambridge Blue Jays in Capitol South conference baseball on Friday, May 15.
New Glarus had a 5-2 lead entering the bottom of the fifth inning when the Blue Jays got six runs on seven hits to take a 9-5 lead. Matthew Roth and Ethan Colstad allowed just two earned runs, but the Knights committed five errors, which led to seven unearned runs.
Landon Stelter was 2x4 with a double and drove in two runs for New Glarus, and Nolan Julseth scored three runs for the Knights.
New Glarus (8-7, 4-4) played in the Pecatonica Triangular against Markesan and Pecatonica on Saturday, May 16 at Blanchardville.
Monticello-Albany 5, Shullsburg-Benton 2
Tyler Constantini hit a home run and drove in three runs in the Space Stallions’ 5-2 win over Shullsburg-Benton in Six Rivers baseball on Friday, May 15.
Tyler Patchen hit a double and walked and drove in a run for Monticello-Albany. Ty Durtschi and Tanner Hilliard combined to limit Shullsburg-Benton to two runs (one earned) on three hits with four walks and seven strikeouts.
Monticello-Albany (3-10, 3-15) had a nonconference game at Orangeville on Monday, May 18 and a Six Rivers game at home against Highland on Tuesday, May 19.
Mineral Point, 15, Darlington 8
The Pointers beat the Redbirds for the sixth straight time on Friday, May 15 15-8 in SWAL action.
The Pointers got an 8-1 lead in the second inning and made it 13-1 with a five-run fourth inning.
Parker Mosely went 2x4 with a home run and two RBIs. Landon Edgerton hit a triple and drove in a run for the Redbirds.
Darlington (6-8, 3-8 SWAL) played a nonconference game at Warren-Stockton on Monday, May 18, followed by a conference game at home against Fennimore on Tuesday, May 19.
River Ridge 19, Black Hawk-Argyle 1 (5 innings)
River Ridge Timberwolves wasted no time in getting a blowout win over the Argyle-Black Hawk Warbirds by scoring nine runs in the first inning of a 19-1 win over the Warbirds in Six Rivers baseball on Friday, May 15.
The Timberwolves added six runs in the second inning and three more runs in the 5th. The Warbirds could only come up with two hits, a double by Braylon Bidlingmaier and a single by Max Soper in the game against River Ridge.
Argyle-Black Hawk (1-16, 1-14) hosted Shullsburg-Benton in a Six Rivers game on Monday, May 18.
Belmont 13, Pecatonica 3
The Belmont Braves started out the game sending 12 batters to the plate and scored eight runs to level the Pecatonica Vikings 13-3 in a Six Rivers game on Friday, May 15.
The Vikings got all of their runs in the fourth and fifth innings on RBIs by Cooper Schraepfer, Linden Ula, and Reed Cassidy.
Pecatonica (10-8, 7-6) face Shullsburg-Benton in a Six Rivers game in Blanchardville on Tuesday, May 19.
