DUBUQUE — The Black Hawk Warriors boys and girls track teams competed on Tuesday, March 18 in the Steve Rutz Starter Indoor Co-Ed meet at the A.Y. McDonald indoor track at the University of Dubuque. Thirteen other teams also competed.
In boys competition, the Warriors’ 4x200 meter relay team of senior Beau Bredeson, senior James Holland, junior Ty Kobbervig, and junior Spencer Hay Skattum took 13th place in 1:46.55. Black Hawk’s 4x400 meter relay team of junior Spencer Hay Skattum, Shane Wand, Dax Paquin, and Ty Kobbervig finished 13th with a time of 4:19.81. In the shot put, senior Beau Bredeson was 21st with a throw of 8 feet, 11.17 meters. Freshman Aiden Mosley was 22nd with a throw of 7 feet, 11.15 meters. In the 55 meter dash, freshman Dax Paquin earned 21st place in a time of 7.50 seconds.
On the girls side, sophomore Maddy Place of Black Hawk was 27th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.12 seconds. Black Hawk’s Emily Curran, a sophomore, was right behind her in 28th place with a time of 8.17 seconds. The Warriors placed their 4x200 meter relay team in 19th place with sophomore Emily Curran, sophomore Jaci Kammes, sophomore Maddy Place, and senior Molly Edler racing the track in 2:04.80.
