Local girls skate, train with Bucky

MONROE - Five members of the U12 girls team of the Monroe Youth Hockey Association participated in the 2010 Wisconsin Women's Hockey School Aug. 9 to 13 taught by Mark Johnson, the University of Wisconsin women's hockey coach and United States women's hockey coach.

For three hours each day the girls worked on skating fundamentals, power skating, hockey skill fundamentals, stickhandling, passing, shooting and puck control. They also participated in scrimmages focusing on offensive and defensive position play.
