FORT ATKINSON - Tyler Sexton pitched well against the Monroe baseball team last week.
On Monday, the Fort Atkinson right-hander was nearly unhittable.
Sexton allowed pitched a complete-game one-hitter and allowed just two Monroe baserunners total as the Blackhawks posted a 3-0 victory in Badger South Conference play.
"He was in complete control the whole night," Monroe coach Dustin Huffman said of Sexton, the winning pitcher in Fort Atkinson's 9-4 triumph in Monroe last week.
"We weren't very aggressive early in the count, but he had a pretty decent offspeed pitch. We couldn't get him off his rhythm."
Monroe had both its baserunners in the second inning, when junior Kevin Klopfenstein rapped a one-out single and junior Dusty Burkhalter drew a two-out walk.
Junior Trent Wyssbrod started for Monroe (2-12, 1-7 Badger South) and went four innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs. He walked three and did not record a strikeout.
"He had pretty decent velocity and was able to put his curveball in the zone," Huffman said. "Anytime you give up three runs, you like your chances. But their guy was just better tonight. We only had two hard-hit balls."
Burkhalter pitched the final two innings for Monroe, allowing two hits and an earned run.
Brady Schoenherr went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Blackhawks.
